Entertainment in Istanbul

Whether you are visiting for the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Istanbul Park or simply exploring the city, Istanbul offers an incredible range of experiences beyond the racing action. As one of the world’s most historic and vibrant cities, it combines centuries-old landmarks, lively waterfront areas, modern shopping districts and dynamic nightlife.

From cruising along the Bosphorus to discovering Ottoman palaces or enjoying sunset views on a rooftop terrace, there is no shortage of things to do between sessions at the circuit.

Historic landmarks and cultural highlights

Hagia Sophia
One of the world’s most iconic buildings, Hagia Sophia has served as a cathedral, mosque and museum throughout its long history. Its impressive dome and mosaics make it a must-visit attraction in Istanbul.

Blue Mosque
Officially known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, this landmark is famous for its six minarets and beautiful blue-tiled interior. It stands directly opposite Hagia Sophia in the historic Sultanahmet district.

Topkapı Palace
Once the residence of Ottoman sultans, Topkapı Palace offers fascinating insight into imperial life, with lavish courtyards, treasury rooms and panoramic views over the Bosphorus.

Grand Bazaar
One of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. A perfect place to explore traditional crafts, spices, jewellery and souvenirs during your race weekend stay.

Bosphorus and outdoor experiences

Bosphorus Boat Cruises
A Bosphorus cruise is one of the best ways to see the city from the water. You’ll pass Ottoman palaces, historic fortresses and modern waterfront villas while enjoying views of both Europe and Asia.

Princes' Islands
A peaceful escape from the busy city. Located in the Sea of Marmara, these car-free islands are ideal for cycling, walking and enjoying sea views.

Çamlıca Hill
The highest point in Istanbul, offering spectacular panoramic views across the city and the Bosphorus – especially impressive at sunset.

Modern districts and shopping

Istiklal Avenue
A lively pedestrian street filled with shops, cafés, restaurants and historic architecture. A great place for an evening stroll after the race.

Zorlu Center
One of Istanbul’s most modern shopping and lifestyle centres, offering international brands, fine dining and entertainment venues.

Closer to Istanbul Park (Asian side)

If you are staying nearer to the circuit in areas such as Pendik or Tuzla, you will still find pleasant seaside promenades, local cafés and relaxed marina areas perfect for unwinding after a busy day at the track. The Tuzla Marina area in particular offers restaurants, walking paths and sea views in a calmer setting compared to central Istanbul.
