PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Planning your journey to Istanbul Park will help you avoid unnecessary delays and make your race weekend far more enjoyable. Below you will find practical information on how to reach the circuit and what to consider before setting off.

Istanbul Park is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, near the Tuzla and Şekerpınar districts, away from the historic city centre and main tourist areas. Its official address is:

Istanbul Park
Akfırat Mahallesi
34906 Tuzla
Istanbul
Türkiye

How to get to the circuit

The circuit can be reached by car, taxi or a combination of public transport and road transfer. The most straightforward route by car is via the O-4 motorway (TEM), following signs for Tuzla or Şekerpınar and then the clearly marked circuit directions. On major event weekends, temporary signage and traffic management systems are usually in place to guide spectators toward the correct parking zones.

If you are driving, always allow extra time, particularly on Sunday. Traffic volumes increase significantly several hours before the race starts and again immediately after the chequered flag. Leaving early in the morning is strongly recommended.

For international visitors, the most convenient airport is Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, located approximately 15 to 20 km from the circuit. The transfer time by car or taxi is usually around 25 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Istanbul Airport, on the European side of the city, is much further away, and travel times can exceed 90 minutes.

Public transport is available but requires planning. You can travel by Marmaray rail or metro towards Pendik or Kartal on the Asian side, then continue by taxi or shuttle service to the circuit. During major events, dedicated shuttle buses may operate from selected transport hubs, so it is advisable to check official race information closer to the event.

When planning your journey, keep in mind that Istanbul is a large and busy city. Rush hour traffic can be heavy, bridges between the European and Asian sides can become congested, and travel times may vary considerably. Checking live traffic updates before departure and building in a time buffer will help ensure you arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy.
